Fashion In Anime: DIY Queen
Misa’s Top 12 Outfits: #2
Doning a blazer reminiscent of my soft grunge days at the height of Tumblr’s hayday, Misa emulates her usual style in a new way. I would have loved to seen this blazer animated, but I can only imagine the nightmare (and the high costs) to do so.
The pinstripe pattern of the blazer appears to be reoccurring fabric in Misa’s closet. The blazer itself looks like a regular jacket from the men’s department that has been DIY’ed by the likes of someone like Vivienne Westwood.
For instance, this blazer look can be achieved by:
- creating a clean tear on the sleeve and loosely “re-hem” with safety pins
- pin a collection of buttons to both sides
- hand sew some patches
And voila! You’ll look just like Misa. Alternatively, here are some Vivenne Westwood blazers references in NANA that have a similar vibe.
