Slam Dunk and Jordan’s are a match made in heaven.
About 9 years, Nike’s Jordan sneaker line collaborated with the anime, Slam Dunk. The show’s creator was a fan of basketball and presumably a fan of Michael Jordan/Jordan’s. That is was supposedly inspired him to write the manga and later the anime.
Mangaka (manga writer/creator) Takehiko Inoue’s series quickly became a beloved one. Not only for its engaging storyline but also for its authentic portrayal of basketball. Inoue’s passion for basketball was obvious through in every panel, capturing the intensity and excitement of the game with remarkable detail.
The collaboration between Nike’s Jordan brand and “Slam Dunk” further solidified the connection between sports and anime. By merging the worlds of footwear and animation, this partnership not only celebrated the legacy of both brands but also introduced a new generation of fans to the rich history of basketball.
