A “Quick” Breakdown On How Anime Vs Manga Fanbases Are Different

I’ll try to keep it simple.

The Manga fanbase is more:

  • Introverted (meaning they’re not as vocal).
  • Accepting of other people’s differences in interests.
  • Introspective.
  • Knowledgeable (they read the original material after all).

That’s my observation. There are assholes, but it doesn’t seem so common.

The anime fanbase is more:

  • Argumentative.
  • Bitchy.
  • Vocal.
  • Arrogant.
  • Opinionated.
  • Critical.

Maybe it’s because anime is visual, and it comes with a lot of different aspects compared to Manga.

I don’t know. But I’m always astonished by the behavior of some anime fans. What makes me laugh is some fans think they know more than they actually do, and they’re sensitive as fuck compared to the Manga fanbase.

I guess people who “read books” aren’t the type to run their mouth or talk shit for shit’s sake. But people who watch TV instead of reading books have a whole different attitude all together.

But there are exceptions. What do you think?
