Everything we know about the Otsutsuki God So Far
Boruto series is about to unfold much more about the Otsutsuki Clan in the upcoming chapters. We got to know about the Godly figure, Otsutsuki God in chapter 55 of Boruto Manga. But that’s all, much hasn’t been revealed about the Otsutsuki God. In this article, we will try to wind up everything related to the Otsutsuki Clan and the divine figure, the Otsutsuki God.
Let’s shred some lights on the mysterious Otsutsuki Clan!
A common belief among the Naruto fandom is that all the Otsutsuki members come from a planet somewhere in the Universe, which comprises of Otsutsuki clan members only. But to be honest, it might actually be quite the opposite.
Why?
We are aware of the fact that there are millions of planets in the always-expanding Universe. In my opinion, the higher-ups of the Otsutsuki Clan, most probably the Otsutsuki God, send their clansmen in pairs to capture a planet. Since a pair of Otsutsuki members are entrusted to invade one planet, we can fairly assume that the Otsutsuki race might not be as big as the human race. If Otsutsuki existed in millions, the process of devouring a planet would be exponentially fast. And when so many different Otsutsuki members devour planets one by one, it would create a situation such that, no individual Otsutsuki can achieve the ultimate goal of being an Otsutsuki God, because of the shortage of planets. But, we already do know that there is a divine Otsutsuki figure somewhere in the Universe, who already attained the form of the Otsutsuki God by devouring dozens and dozens of planets.
The destruction created by just 3 Otsutsuki members ( Kaguya, Isshiki, and Momoshiki ) is immense, just imagine what a million of them would be capable of. Therefore, it’s very safe to assume that the Otsutsuki Clan is definitely not that large. Another strong piece of evidence that proves this particular status of the Otsutsuki Clan is the resurrection part.
If Otsutsukis were really large in number, the writer (Kishimoto), didn’t have to create the concept of Resurrection for low-level Otsutsuki Clan Members. We know that the Sacrificial Otsutsuki resurrects every time in a new vessel, again serving as a mere pawn for the higher-ups of the Clan until their master earns the status of Otsutsuki God.
So in summary, this is how the Otsutsuki Clan works: The lower-ranked members serve the higher-ups as a sacrificial pawn until the latter attain the form of a God. If the Otsutsuki Clan really does have an astonishing number of members, the need for the resurrection of lower-ranked members, again and again, wouldn’t make any sense at all.
Conclusion: The Otsutsuki Clan consists of only a few clansmen, probably around 50? or even less than that.
Who is the Otsutsuki God?
Otsutsuki God is the final form of an Otsutsuki clan member, that can only be achieved upon consuming an insane amount of chakra fruits.
Boruto is the only human that possesses the mysterious Jougan eye in Naruto Verse right now. Besides him, the other being that possesses the Jougan is the strongest of all, the Otsutsuki God! Boruto currently possesses only 1 Jougan, however, the Otsutsuki God has thousands of Jougans ( also known as the pure eye ) lying all over his body.
What is Jogan?
As it stands, Jogan is an Otsutsuki Dojutsu known to be possessed by the Otsutsuki-God and Boruto only. According to Isshiki Otsutsuki, when you devour enough planets, you awaken such divine power, and this is the power that gives an Otsutsuki Clan member the highest rank, the rank of the Otsutsuki-God.
Little Spoiler from the Manga……
Isshiki Otsutsuki died in the battle against Naruto and Kurama, not being able to get into a new host in the time that remained. Before dying, Isshiki entrusted Code, his most loyal servant with his huge legacy. He wants Code to inherit his dream of becoming an Otsutsuki God. By constantly devouring planets, Isshiki wants Code to be the greatest and one of the mightiest, if not the mightiest Otsutsuki of all time.
Why did Toneri give Jogan to Boruto?
Someone in the Universe who already attained the status of Otsutsuki God didn’t want any other Otsutsukis to reach his level so that he would never be rivaled. Therefore after awakening the Jogan, he gave one of the pure eyes (The Jogan) to Toneri Otsutsuki. The Otsutsuki God entrusted Toneri to give the Jogan Eye to someone who has the potential to wield it and who can successfully stop other Otsutsuki clan members from devouring the Chakra Fruit. And this is the reason why Boruto wields a Jogan in his right eye.
The main reason it was Boruto, who was particularly chosen is that he is the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga, who both are the descendants of the Otsutsuki lineage. This is just a theory!
