The Fruits Basket franchise ended in Spring 2021, and ever since, I always wished to see it again because of its rawness and emotional impact.
So when I heard Fruits Basket Prelude was animated, I felt happy because I’ll get to see the cast again. This time, the story will narrate the life of Tohru’s parents, Kyoko and Katsuya.
Fruits Basket Prelude is divided into two parts. The first part is a recap of the final Season, while the second half shows Kyoko’s life from her troubled teenage years to when she and Katsuya fell in love and started a family.
THOUGHTS
Kyoko was a delinquent who skipped school and joined a gang. Kyoko was neglected by her parents because they deemed her an embarrassment to the family.
Because of this, Kyoko lost hope in herself until she met Katsuya, who showed her she can change.
