INTRODUCTION

Two years ago, I left an abusive workplace.

It started when a friendly recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn for a job vacancy they had. To cut the story short, I landed the role.

Two months into the job, I can’t help but notice how my manager couldn’t keep her word or give guidance when needed. This led to several instances of being gaslighted and scolded.

This experienced made the premise behind My New Boss Is Goofy intriguing, as I experienced the same conflict in the show, first-hand.

At its core, this anime tells that painful memories can be replaced with beautiful ones.

It took a while before I recovered from my trauma from that workplace, but I’m thankful to My New Boss Is Goofy for shedding light unto a sensitive topic.

PLOT

After Momose develops health problems because of his boss’ power harassment, he quits his job to join a different company.
