INTRODUCTION

Moriarty the Patriot reminds me of Code Geass because the protagonists from both anime had the same vision — to create a better world. Lelouch ached to destroy the Britannian Empire for his sister, Nunnally. While William yearned to eliminate the aristocracy that poisons the British society.

While both characters appear untouchable, they’re not immune to the consequences of their actions. Even in their world, the pursuit of equality is long and arduous.

In the case of this show, is it acceptable to commit evil to eradicate it? What if there’s no other way but to resort to it? If the answer is no, could we ever achieve equality then?

It’s interesting to see Moriarty’s answer to that question.

PLOT

In the late 19th century, Great Britain became the world’s most powerful empire. However, beneath its success is a hierarchy that dictates a person’s value based on status and wealth. The system favors aristocrats, therefore making it impossible for the working class to prosper.
