INTRODUCTION
Love stories are usually repetitive because the confession usually happens at the end. The plot and character development only serve to bring the couple together.
That’s not the case for Ride Your Wave.
Ride Your Wave is a romance anime, but the romantic aspect was only a means to an end. It didn’t zero in on the rainbows of a relationship, but it also explored grief and coming to terms with oneself.
The couple in this story didn’t get the happy ending they hoped for and that led our main heroine Hinako to question herself.
How do you ride the waves when the person you always relied on is no longer there?
PLOT
Hinako Mukaimizu is an energetic college student with no clear direction regarding her future career. Her life takes an unexpected turn when a fireworks mishap sets her apartment on fire. During the incident, she was saved by a charming firefighter Minato Hinageshi.
