INTRODUCTION

If there’s any anime movie that captures the depth of a parent’s love, it’s Wolf Children.

I first watched Wolf Children in 2018 because of a friend’s recommendation. I wasn’t into anime much then. But this is one of the movies that made me fall in love with the medium.

I then learned that anime is not just about action and supernatural abilities. It also tells stories about everyday life and, in this case, the joys and the pains of a parent.

PLOT

A college student, Hana falls in love with a mysterious man who attends one of her classes even if he’s not an enrolled student. One evening, he transforms into a werewolf in front of her. Despite this, Hana loves him still.

They soon start a family. Hana gives birth to two children, Ame and Yuki. They can both turn into wolves, an ability they inherited from their father. However, the sudden death of their father leaves Hana to raise peculiar children on her own.
