1. Fed Preview, Bitcoin Holds Steady at $22.9K.
-BTC was recently trading at about $22,900, up 0.5% over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, markets are awaiting the Federal Reserve’s Wednesday decision on a potential interest rate increase. Nasdaq Composite closed up 1.6%, while the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rose 1.4 and 1%.

2. Kazakhstan Aims to Enhance Its Legacy Crypto Trading Framework.
-Kazakhstan’s central bank recommended launching an in-house central bank digital currency (CBDC) in 2023, with a phased expansion of functionality and introduction into commercial operation until the end of 2025. The AFSA believes that the new policy recommendations will bring about several improvements, including risk mitigation related to crypto operations and the industry in general.

3. Aptos, Metaverse-Affiliated Tokens Lead Broad-Based Rally.
-Layer 1 blockchain Aptos’ native token surged over 387% this month, leading all cryptocurrencies for gains and dwarfing the performance of bitcoin and ether. Solana’s SOL token also rose.

-Elon Musk’s Twitter has started applying for a license to operate a regulated payments business in the US.Twitter is looking for an alternative source of revenue alongside advertising.

5. UK Finance Ministry to Propose Broad Rules for Crypto, Invites Industry Feedback.
-The Treasury gave crypto companies a time limited exemption to approve their own crypto promotions until more regulation comes.

6. Ethereum Developers to Launch New Testnet ‘Zhejiang’ for Simulating ETH Withdrawals.
-Users will be able to get a sense of how staked ETH withdrawals will work from a testnet due to go fully live on Feb. 7.
