1. Bitcoin Tops $21.3K as Cryptos’ 2023 Feel-Good Story Continues
-Bitcoin soared past $21.3K for the first time since early November before retreating slightly. But BTC remained in the green in Monday trading.

2. CoinFLEX attempts to hose down backlash over proposed new 3AC project
-The pitch deck for the exchange was leaked to the media and had been criticized for involving failed crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital.
Amid mounting criticism on social media, crypto investment firm CoinFLEX has attempted to clarify its plans to build a new crypto exchange with Three Arrows Capital (3AC).

3. Bithumb ordered to pay outage damages to investors by South Korean court
-A ruling from local courts has Bithumb liable to pay just over $200,000 in damages to the 132 investors which filed against the cryptocurrency exchange.

4. Monex wants to buy FTX Japan amid bankruptcy proceedings
-FTX Japan, one of the four FTX assets put on sale, caught the eye of Monex Group, an online brokerage firm based in Tokyo.
Monex CEO Oki Matsumoto said that they are interested and expressed that it will be a “very good thing” for them if there will be less competition within the local market.

5. Binance Will Allow Institutional Investors to Keep Collateral Off the Crypto Exchange
-Binance will allow institutional investors to keep their collateralized crypto used for leveraged positions, off the platform.
The exchange will enable investors to post collateral with Binance Custody, which will hold the assets off the internet, in cold storage wallets, Binance said in a statement on Monday. Once trades are settled, the assets would then become accessible to the user again.

6. Iran and Russia want to issue new stablecoin backed by gold
-The Central Bank of Iran is reportedly cooperating with the Russian government to jointly issue a new cryptocurrency backed by gold.
According to the Russian news agency Vedomosti, Iran is working with Russia to create a “token of the Persian Gulf region” that would serve as a payment method in foreign trade.
