An interview with Tim Kham, the founder of ANNA Systems: Part I.
Tell some words about your professional background and interests.
An entrepreneur, a researcher in the field of ontology and cognitive theory (the formation of new scientific world pictures, the hypothesis of computer simulation of the universe), an expert in HPC market, computer simulation and virtual reality.
What was your motivation to create ANNA Systems project?
Our team met in 2012. Initially, we specialize in neural network algorithms designed for machine vision of robotics hardware. Over time, we faced the question concerning the status of the existence of services that could provide high-performance computing remotely, giving access to them via regular computer. It turned out that there are no such services providing operations needed on 24/7 basis. Soon, we saw that we are not the only ones suffering from the lack of convenient Internet services. Potential segment presented by small and medium-sized businesses, small teams of developers, engineers, designers, designers, startups has formed in the market by 2014. All of them were united by one problem with the acute need to use such technologies: a high entry threshold in the form of huge budgets for equipment, licenses, maintenance and restrictions on the use of high-performance computing technologies, expressed in overstated professional requirements for the end user. As a result our team has come to grips with the study of high-performance computing technologies and their adaptation to Internet users since 2015.
Formulate the mission of the project in few sentences.
ANNA Systems project is aimed at building the existing global infrastructure for providing high-performance computing services that are easily accessible to any Internet user.
How does you project affect society?
The reduction of entry threshold for the use of high-performance computing technologies by small and medium-sized businesses, engineering, research and design teams will ensure high-quality growth in science, engineering, technology, and the production of a wide range of goods and services.
