April 26, 2017 — We are pleased to participate in a new exhibit featuring artwork by incarcerated artists, curated by Prison Arts Touching Hearts (P.A.T.H.) Director Leslie Lakes.

Art Escape At Alcatraz will celebrate the history of Alcatraz from the pre-Civil War era to the present. It will also showcase Alcatraz Island’s natural history by shining a spotlight on its flora & fauna.

The principal show will be on Alcatraz Island in the Alcatraz Band Practice Room. The Marin County Free Library’s Anne T. Kent California Room and The Belvedere Tiburon Library will display smaller pieces echoing the same theme.

According to curator Leslie Lakes the show is “an homage to The Rock in art and poetry by over 35 incarcerated artists from around the country.”
