In 2010 the California Room was fortunate to receive a grant from the California Council for the Humanities which allowed us to conduct a series of interviews with Marin County landscape artists to better understand their inspirations, artistic process and life stories.

Oral historian Marilyn Geary interviewed the artists and videographer Kramer Herzog recorded them. We used these interviews as source material for our film: Marin Mind/Scapes: Stories of Art, Nature & Wellness.

Now local film-maker Brian Sagar has produced in-depth profiles of some of these artists from our videotape archive.
