Kent California Room and the Civic Center Library for a special screening of local filmmaker George Thelen’s award-winning documentary The San Agustin: California Shipwreck, 1595, on Thursday, March 6 , 2014 at noon in the Marin Civic Center’s Board Chambers, Room 330 at 3501 Civic Center Dr., San Rafael. Attached, please find a PDF of the flyer for this special screening which will include an introductory Powerpoint and a Q & A with Mr. Thelen.

Thelen’s recently released documentary highlighting the first known shipwreck on the U.S. West Coast has won the ‘Citizen Journalist’ Award given by CreaTiVe of San Jose, California.

Marin County resident George Thelen of Thelen Creative produced the half-hour documentary titled The San Agustín: California Shipwreck, which profiles the legendary Spanish Galleon San Agustín. The ship sank during a winter storm in the waters of Drakes’ Bay at Point Reyes in 1595.
