California Room & the 2012 Marin County Fair: A Grand Success

by Carol Acquaviva

California Room Docents Dave Williams and Marilyn L. Geary at the California Room’s booth

We wish to thank the generous volunteers who assisted us with our booth at this year’s Marin County Fair, June 30th through July 4th. You can see photos of our booth on flickr.

We had the privilege of being located adjacent to the stunning photographs taken by M.B. Boissevain, a farm advisor during the early 20th Century who documented agricultural practices of farms and ranches throughout Marin.

Our booth was — by all measures — a hit: over 700 visitors stopped by to say hello, learn about Marin County’s agricultural history, play our history game and win prizes! Congratulations to Audrey, who won our raffle of the 1937 Marvelous Marin map reproduction.

We enjoyed seeing you all, and hoped you had as much fun as we did at the 2012 Fair!
