Walking Tours of Point Reyes Station (2014)
by Meg Linden
Walking tours covering the history of downtown Point Reyes Station will be given every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. though October 2014. The tours, about 1 – 1 1/4 hours long, are sponsored by the Jack Mason Museum of West Marin History, the Tomales Bay Youth Center, and the West Marin Chamber of Commerce. Tickets ($10) are available at the Point Reyes Station Farmer’s Market on the morning of the tour (first come, first served) and each tour is limited to 10 people.
Come learn about the role of Swiss-Italians in the development of the town, including the Grandis, Chedas, Codonis and Scilaccis.
Learn all the places the Post Office was located and all the names it had before both the town and the Post Office officially became Point Reyes Station in 1891.
