Melinda Renteria

Melinda Renteria is an USC Annenberg Youth Academy reporter from the 2019 cohort. She is from Bravo Medical Magnet High school and is a rising senior for the class of 2020. Melinda got introduced to AYA by her first year journalism teacher who saw that she was very eager and participatory in his class. Even though Melinda is here for communications and journalism, she also has a high interest in fashion. She wants to show people “ You don’t need to be flashy to be cute.” Simple and modest styles work, you don’t NEED expensive clothes to be cute and stylish.
Melinda wants to learn more about journalism and communication because she can use the media to show off her fashion. All around you see people putting their business out there on a free platform like Instagram. She wants to learn how to reach other people to show off her work. Melinda learned how to promote new things work the different angles of the camera, which will help her catch peoples eye.
Going into AYA she hopes to learn how to communicate with others on a broader platform on social media. Hopefully we will see some of Melinda’s fashion work soon to come.
