During the early stages of Annotdot, many of you gave us feedback on having the private repository feature. Our team has worked especially hard on making this feature available to you. Today, I’d like you to give you a very easy guide on how to use this feature so you can begin annotating your own projects with your teammates!

For you to begin using our Private Projects feature, you must log in first. Click on the icon on the top right corner of the page and you’ll find the ‘Log in’ button. You can log in using your Github account or through your Annotdot account.

Once your log in is successful, you will land to a page that looks just like the image below. Click on ‘Start private Project’.

Annotdot User Dashboard

You will see a pop up window with detailed explanation on how to activate your private projects. Next, invite three friends that do not know of Annotdot by simply writing down their email address.

After you click on ‘Invite’, all you need to do is wait until your friends accept your invitation request. You will get a notification email once your access to private projects is activated.

Activating Private Project feature 2

When your activation is complete, you can bring any project from your Github account and start annotating with your friends.

You can invite only friends already using Annotdot. To invite your friends to your private project, just click on the invite icon once you are in the project itself.

Type your friend’s username or email and click ‘Invite’!
