We all didn’t know we’d be working from home for more than a whole year but now that we’re here, we better make the best of it! This is why our latest video on “Design Workspace, Energy & Income” & this article talks about the much-needed topic of the hour — Affordable yet Epic WFH Desk Add-ons!

Some of my favorite additions to my work desk are —

  1. Wire Clips: organizes all your charging wires so you do not have to constantly plug them in & out and you can charge your devices instantly!

2. Phone Holder: very convenient to keep in front of you during video calls, so you do not have to hold the phone with one hand — that in itself reduces 50% of the output your body can produce!

3. Front & Bottom Laptop Cover / Laptop Trackpad & Keyboard Guard

I cannot stress the importance of protecting your laptop! In a world where digital devices depreciate so quickly within a year or so… maintaining them well is key. It ensures that their resale value does not depreciate — so that in some 4–5 years when the machine is outdated, your resale value increases at least by a minimum of 15% if it’s in good shape as compared to if it isn't!

4. A Comfy Chair: This one’s THE most important, really. Probably the biggest investment too, out of everything else on the list. But so worth it. Most of our time while working is spent on our chair and how comfortable we feel actually determines our output. If you aren’t comfortable, you may want to not work only to avoid sitting on your chair! So if you think about the trade-off between the comfort you get and the cost you pay per day — comfort clearly wins!

The main purpose behind talking about these small things you can easily buy off Amazon is for you to actually live (& of course, work) comfortably. We may not see it directly but it makes us much better at what we do. These add-ons may seem small & insignificant, but their impact is big enough!

Lastly, there are 2 more tiny things that help a great amount. Having a dustbin & a water bottle near your desk makes life super convenient! Keep the water bottle somewhere you can constantly see so you do not miss out on hydrating yourself. It really makes you feel refreshed! Usually, when we’re in a state of flow, we often forget to eat or drink — but drinking enough water & keeping yourself full actually helps our flow be better!

Have a neat study/work table, protect your gadgets well and make sure your workspace feels inviting — all these things will make your work output much better and are definitely worth your investment.
