Heads Up Hand of the Week — February 6, 2009

A guys sits down at a $200NL heads up table with a shortstack, about $100 or so. We played 9 hands at this point, but he hasn’t folded preflop from the SB or the BB even once.

Gugel (Button) ($207.50)
SB ($97.40)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7d, 5s
Hero raises to $4, SB raises to $6, Hero calls $2

Flop: ($12) 7c, Qs, 2h (2 players)
SB bets $10, Hero calls $10

Turn: ($32) 2c (2 players)
SB bets $81.40 (All-In), Hero calls $81.40

River: ($194.80) 8h (2 players, 1 all-in)

What do you put the villain on? Would he jam the turn with a two? Would he jam the turn with a queen? Wouldn’t he want to string me along and get more value from his strong hand by betting $20 on the turn and THEN jamming the river? His bet is screaming “Please fold!” and against a bad opponent who isn’t capable of leveling me, that means I should call.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
