People are starting to realize that the world is incredibly connected and that an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge is the best way to go about learning. This week’s readings spent a lot of time discussing the need for certain fields of study to be intertwined. Epistemology is the study of knowledge and how it gets acquired which is very important for this course as the way knowledge gets processed is crucial for formulating lasting theories.

Nicole Creanza, an assistant professor of biology, teamed up with fellow Stanford professors to study the way evolution of humans is discussed. They conclude that an interdiscplinary approach is necessary in order to better understand evolution. This special issue of discovering how we act today and how we came to be has brought economists, anthropologists, computer scientists, psychologists, etc. together to learn from each other. Creanza further states that it is imperative to understand different cultural inheritances in oder to better rationalize events about evolution. The readings this week also suggest that looking at things from different cultural lights can help better understand and explain science as there is still more to be learned.
