The way time is viewed has varied throught generations and time periods. People of this day and age definitely complain about a lack of time. Blame is often placed on technology as there are claims of social media and cell phones taking up our day. I have noticed a common trend of young people utlize their phones very often even in social situations that don’t necessarily need their phones. We have created technology to focus on optimizing time but by doing this we have created a culture of looking at time like money. This creates unnecessary value on various periods of time which can lead to a disillusionment with what is exactly happening. Even personal development coaches discusses how people can slow down time in their head. These online write-ups and topics are becoming increasingly popular as people agree that they want more time in their life. If we rethink how we view time, we can start feeling we are more in control of our lives. Time shouldn’t be looked at as something that needs to be optimized before we run out of it but I feel like it should be enjoyed in all aspects for whatever someone is doing.
