Why We Invested — Nosso

I’m a parent to two relatively young children. I’m also a child of immigrant parents who didn’t have much in terms of wealth or education. I’m someone who came to financial literacy, saving, and investing, after the age of 30. This meant that I immediately understood what the team at Nosso was working on. It was an obvious proposition for me to see the value in and why every family should have something like Nosso in their lives.

Nosso is transforming the way parents invest and plan for their children. By building a platform that makes it easy for parents and family members to collaborate, share and save together as well as celebrate moments with financial rewards and incentives, Nosso is the investment platform I wish I had access to when my kids were born.

By building investment accounts for children that parents can track, manage and contribute to together, Nosso simplifies the process for parents. The application goes beyond this by providing unique contribution links that allow extended family and friends to contribute to the children’s investment accounts easily. Beyond contributing, family and friends can leave messages and pictures along with their contributions to make gifts more personal.

Youssef and Sigurjon started working together on this proposition in 2020 and have already had over 1000 families using the Nosso application, with 95% of these families investing for the first time. Families have always struggled to understand what’s available and what are the best ways to collaborate, give, save, invest and plan for their children, with Nosso planning and investing in a collaborative manner has never been easier.

With Junior ISAs and General Investment Accounts as the starting point, Nosso will launch new products this year and in the future to make investing easier for families no matter how they are made up. The teams at Anthemis and BBVA have been impressed by the vision Youssef and Sigurjon have shown and how they’re thinking about building and launching new products in the future.
