Me trying to translate some funny words/phrases of HK Cantonese into English
Genie (Cantonese: 燈神, Jyutping: dang1san4) — noun
Meaning: Someone who supports someone/something or predicts (probably a lot) something will happen but gets the opposite results almost all the time.
Example: OM*G they are gonna lose ’cause Tommy the genie thinks they will win so9sad.

Meaning: (usually used in passive form) to get an opposite result while someone supports one idea/predicts something will happen.
Lamp-power or Lampability (Cantonese: 燈力, Jyutping: dang1lik6) — noun
Meaning: A person’s power/ability to “get” the opposite results as they predict.
Example: DAB’s lamp-power is pretty high. Whoever they support lose in this year’s World Cup.
Burnhill (Cantonese: 燒山, Jyutping: siu1saan1) - proper noun
Meaning: Stephen Shiu, a(n) (in)famous person for always being a genie, esp in political matters.
