At this point, our group had a little bit of a [project] identity crisis where we felt like we were losing track of our goals/weren’t certain where the project was going. We first attempted to identify what the strengths and weaknesses of each of the prior proposed ideas before to understand what we should utilize from each of them.

After talking to Stacie, she helped evaluate why we targeted this group to start off with and what were our main priorities.

We ultimately ended up with the #1 priority being the ability to empower with secondary factors being flexible timing and the ability to collaborate. Going back to an earlier discussion, we had the options to delve into issues with pollution, water quality, and pesticides in food. Due to the young nature of our target audience and their inability to impact air or water quality as much, we decided to focus on how we can teach kids that what food they eat can impact their personal health for better or worse.

The most noteworthy (using the power of hindsight) was the concept of watching a plant grow, getting to vote on what vegetables should be planted or what foods are cooked using those vegetables, and the collaborative aspect of voting as an individual part of a group working towards a result.
