By now you all have either heard about or seen the brawl on the Alabama Riverwalk, but do you understand its historical irony?

IRONY Caucasian descendants of slave owners (rednecks) were sunbathing on an expensive boat (probably bought with the generational wealth of slavery) and blocking the space reserved for the Harriott II (named after famed slave abolitionist Harriett Tubman) on a weekend where African Americans and Descendants of US Chattel Slaves were celebrating their brave ancestors who survived slavery. Blah, blah, blah, and Caucasian colonizers unfairly attacked an unarmed Black man (like they normally do). But this time Black men and women came from near and far to rescue the unarmed man who was simply doing his job. In the very same spot where slaves were bought and sold, previous slave owners picked a fight with the offspring of the formerly enslaved.

Sound familiar? It should.

The Fight Our Ancestors Waited For

Stories of self-defense against unchecked domestic terrorists should sound familiar because this fight took place only minutes…
