Antics of Dream Flyers
Galactic
A free-verse poem of dreamtime flying, corresponding to the oral cues and illustration of Beth W., Learning Disability class, Poets-in-the-Schools.
“About my flying saucer,” says Beth, “it has eyes, ears, nose, and mouth,
and retractable legs with toes for soft landings wherever It goes.
It is smooth and sleek.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I am in It, and It is in me — unquestionably unique.
I am not captive, I am the captain. My every thought is Its command.
Each cell performs well and cooperates fully whenever we fly, wherever
we land.”
