Antler Australia is working on solving one of the biggest challenges for startups across the world: fundraising.

The Australian arm of the early-stage VC today announced via StartupDaily that it would launch a pilot of a newly-developed proprietary Investor Platform, aimed at helping foster connections between investors and its portfolio companies.

“We know that fundraising can be difficult. So often founders waste time with meetings with investors that aren’t the right fit, or their ticket size doesn’t match the raise or stage of the company,” says Magnus Grimeland, Founder and CEO of Antler. “This platform uses matching tools and filtering features to connect the right investors to the right companies, at the right time.”

Here’s how it will work

Select investors, including angels, VCs, and Limited Partners of the Australian Fund, will be invited to join the pilot version of the product next week when Antler Australia reveals its most recent cohort of investments.

Once on the platform, investors will also be able to follow and get in touch with the new Australian portfolio companies, as well as the 50-plus other startups the firm has invested in since 2019.

Founders, similarly, will be able to request investors follow them, scaling the network effect of the global Antler footprint.

First cohort without a ‘traditional’ Demo Day

“For the first time, we will not hold a Demo Day in the traditional sense,” says Bede Moore, Managing Partner of Antler Australia.

“We believe this platform will forge more meaningful connections between our portfolio companies and investors, and expect this will also be a powerful tool that will see investors convert to long-term supporters of our companies and in term will help them raise future rounds through to Series C.”

Since launching in 2019, Antler Australia has raised a AU$46 million Fund, invested in more than 50 companies, is now working with existing businesses and individuals, and has expanded into Melbourne, where it will kick off its first local cohort on June 21.
