Any_ Creates a Poetry Experience with Grammy Nominated singer and songwriter Jhené Aiko
We’re proud to launch our finished digital experience that involved collaboration with Jhené Aiko, Catalystic Studios and Samsung. It’s not every day a Grammy-nominated artist releases a poetry book. In the era of internet-savvy audiophiles, we set out to connect the dots between the digital and physical worlds. The poetry book, 2 Fish, is a compilation of untitled poems that Jhené started at the age of 16 until now, displaying her growth as a person and layered personality.
Henceforth, we created a platform to allow a behind-the-scenes look at five poems from 2Fish: (a Poetry Book), bringing forth Aiko’s personal background and deeply-rooted, raw thoughts. The 2Fish platform is largely interactive, using its own unique player so you can traverse the experience at your own pace. Upon click, the platform freezes and highlights an individual moment from her past, bringing memories to the surface and connecting insight to prose.
Jhené Aiko describes her writing style as this, “As a poet I like to keep it simple. I think that there is depth in simplicity. I feel like there’s genius in simplicity. I don’t try to use words you don’t understand. At the same time, it’s very personal and very much so comes from my heart. It’s really my thoughts on paper.”
