September Newsletter — Buidl
At PISA Research, our goal is to build the missing components for an off-chain, open-source, global and permissionless financial system. Over the past few years, we have helped set the foundation for off-chain scalability and now our task is to ensure that crypto, via off-chain, will be adopted by billions of users.
🚀🚀🚀BinanceX Fellow & Offchain Overview 🚀🚀🚀
Patrick McCorry and Sergi Delgado are part of the first batch of BinanceX fellows.
It symbolises that a company like Binance recognises and wants to support our continued contributions in the field of cryptocurrencies (notably our work on offchain protocols).
As well, we prepared a short 5-minute video to highlight why we are so passionate about our work at PISA Research.
👷👷👷👷 Implementation Update 👷👷👷👷
We have a live and running “alpha” version for both our Bitcoin and Ethereum watching service.
While in the coming months we will release a running service publicly, we are seeking private and interested stakeholders to try it out. So if you “fulfil” any of the following criteria, please get in touch:
- Are you operating an off-chain protocol like a state channel or plasma? Hire PISA
- Have you sent a sealed bid to an on-chain auction, but do not want to stay online to reveal it? Hire PISA
- Do you need a financially accountable meta-transaction relayer to avoid paying gas? Hire PISA
- As a merchant — do you want to accept 0-confirmation transactions and pass the liability onto someone else? Hire PISA
Remember, the purpose of an accountable third party watching service, is to take on the “financial liability” for when bad things happen. It is an accountable responder of last-resort — to protect and improve the UX for the user.
We support all-types of responding from resolving disputes, watching for events, or even supporting meta-transactions for services.
Great things to come, watch this space.
🎉🎉🎉 Scaling Bitcoin, Starkware Sessions, Devcon5, CESC 🎉🎉🎉
Over the coming months, we are proud to be represented and given an opportunity to present our work at top-tier technical conferences.
While we are a small and lean team, each member has significant technical contributions in the cryptocurrency arena, and we will continue to push-forward the state-of-the-art to guarantee that crypto will be in the hands of billions of users in the near future.
