AnyLog is a decentralized network of machines that are optimized to manage time-series data.

Decentralization means that no third party controls the network. Any company can download the AnyLog software to their machines, make their machines members of the network and manage their data, or, monetize their compute resources by offering storage and CPU to other members of the network.

The software includes a scripting language optimized for time-series data that allows to automate the processing of data, as well as providing data storage and query functionalities over the managed data.

Companies can decide to use their own machines or trusted 3rd parties machines or encrypt the data. With this approach, the data is safe and secure, and data owners maintain full control of their data.

By distributing the IoT data over the network and leveraging the compute resources of members of the network, AnyLog offers a platform that operates as a massively parallel computer to efficiently and securely manage IoT data. This approach is based on peer-to-peer (P2P) processes and therefore scales with no limits.

Nodes join the network by installing the AnyLog Software and declaring their role as Publishers of data, Operators that host data or Query nodes that satisfy SQL queries over the data.

When queries are issued, the network identifies the Operators that maintain the relevant data and these Operators participate in the query process.

This approach allows to keep data in place, next to the devices that generate the data and reduce the volumes of data transferred to the cloud.

The physical distribution of the data is hidden from the users. AnyLog provides a unified view of the data and users have the same experience as if the data is managed in the cloud or a centralized SQL based database.

For time-series data, the network offers technical advantages: Companies can extract real-time value from their data, there are no scaling limits and companies can achieve the performance levels that they need by determining the number of nodes that will be leveraged to service their data.
