I love using Canva to make graphics and visual content for articles, but I hate when I get stuck because I have to find a way to do something basic!

I found some Canva keyboard shortcuts to make our lives a little easier and create visual content faster.

So you don’t have to!

Shortcuts to Move Elements

  • Moving elements 1 pixel: Press the arrow key once for the direction you need to move 1 pixel at a time.
  • Moving elements 10 pixels: shift + arrow key pointing in the direction you need.
  • Deselect element: esc key

Text Shortcuts

  • Add text to the graphic: Click the area to add text and press T key
  • Change text to uppercase: command / ctrl + shift + K
  • Left alignment: command / ctrl + shift + L
  • Right alignment: command / ctrl + shift + R
  • Center alignment: command / ctrl + shift + C
  • Copy style to another text box: command / ctrl + option / alt + C
  • Past style to another text box: command / ctrl + option / alt + v

Other Shortcuts

  • Undo action: command / ctrl + Z
  • Redo action: command / ctrl + Z
  • Select All elements: command / ctrl + A
  • Show grid lines: command / ctrl + colon or : twice
  • Group elements: command / ctrl + G
  • Zoom In or out: command / ctrl + plus or - key
  • Add or remove selected elements: shift + click surrounding elements
  • Select an element from behind another one: command / ctrl + click the overlapping elements
  • Duplicate or copy an element command/ ctrl + option / alt + C
