Does Many Stories Work?
Many Stories is a part of Penname’s umbrella of websites. Writers can share their Medium articles to help drive traffic to their articles. It can be used for other articles that are not on Medium. All you need is a link to your published work and you’re ready to go.
How does it work?
The interface of the site is easy to navigate and it’s easy to share your work. Many Stories is still growing. I’d imagine that reading material won’t become scarce any time soon.
The collections feature allows you to make a collection of your works. It’s up to the individual if they want to use the feature or not.
On the front page of Many Stories, there is a collections tab right next to ‘writers’. Collections can also be looked up with the site’s search feature. Putting work in collections will improve the chances of stories being seen. I currently have two collections. One for my Medium articles and another for my blog posts from my website.
Does sharing work get more views?
In my experience, I don’t get many reads on my work. My article, What’s Up With Simily?, has six reads on Medium.
The last reads were on December 13th. On Many Stories, it shows that 30 people have clicked on it. So, in theory, it should have 36 total views. It is sadly not the case.
The most recent blog post I shared was Goodbye 2022, which has 20 hits on Many Stories. On the analytics of my website, it had two views. Both I knew were from friends.
Does the Website work?
Many Stories seems to work best for people who already have a big name in online writing. When it comes to clicks on articles, it seems like it’s bot traffic. At least for my posts.
My experience is not going to be the same for everyone. I recommend using Many Stories for its easy interface and the ability to post links easily. Maybe being on the site for six months isn’t long enough to gain a following.
