How my Medium Stats Changed? -From 6 in Dec 2021 to 45 in May 2022

This is how my stats changed and my followers grew

I posted my first 3 stories on Medium on Nov 8, 2020. These were some random articles that were lying around. One was an article I wrote for an employer (basically an article I wrote for an employer who rejected it saying it wasn’t good enough), which has 18 views and 3 reads (pretty disappointing).

The second one has 21 views and 6 reads. It was the third article that got the real traction. It was titled “Business Ideas for Lazy Entrepreneurs” and I think it was the title that grabbed the attention. It has 1.6K views and 860 reads so far.

I kept posting on and off after that but none of my pieces got real traction. My followers didn’t increase till May 2022.

What Changed The Stats?

From my first post on Nov 8, 2021, till April 2022, I had just 6 followers but the game changed in May. Although I didn’t post many stories but I changed the tactics.

I wasn’t very active on Medium before May. I posted a total of 4 stories in May but I read a lot of stories posted by other writers on Medium.

I clapped for the stories I loved and commented on the stories to let the writers know about my presence.

It was game changer for me. My followers started to grow. People started commenting on my stories and appreciated my thought process.

Becoming part of publications takes your stats to a whole new level. I became part of three publications during the month of May; @New Writers Welcome, @The Orange Journal, and @Modern Women, and I love all three of them.
