LinkedIn Is Here to Teach You SEO for Free (an Underrated Course)
Rank your website on Google’s first page and up your digital game.
Over 7.5 million blog posts are published every day. It is both cool and a reason to worry. Why, you ask.
Cool because blogs are still very relevant but a matter to worry about because in those millions of blogs, yours can get lost pretty easily.
And that very reason, my friends, calls for your investment of time into learning SEO.
What is SEO?
Let’s clear this out first as many people misunderstand this term.
SEO or Search Engine Optimization is nothing but improving the quality of your website — all aspects of it — in order to boost traffic through organic sources. (Keep in mind that we are going website-specific here.)
Though I don’t recommend you use your personal website for hosting your blogs but your blogs can definitely complement.
For example, you can set up a shop or a newsletter and write a couple of posts every week to enlighten the visitors about your offerings.
This can not only boost sales but will also build credibility and community.
Why SEO?
SEO is a very dynamic field — like design or programming. It’s constantly evolving, and that means you also need to keep upskilling yourself accordingly.
And taking a basic course in SEO will familiarise you with how it actually works and what can you achieve with it.
You need not learn every minute detail of SEO. Do you want to become an SEO expert? If the answer is a no, as it will be for most of us, your goal should be to learn how it works and what are its “good practices.”
This will help you take better decisions in almost all aspects of building, managing, and growing your website.
Enters LinkedIn Learning
I came across this platform via an ad on LinkedIn itself. The ad conveyed that they had unlocked a premium course for me for the next 24 hours.
This course was called Communication Foundations. I wanted to improve my communications skills so I took this course and completed it enthusiastically.
It introduced me to this new app called LinkedIn Learning. I kept exploring their catalogue for free courses — as most of them are paid.
And then I discovered a course on SEO.
I knew I would want to learn SEO at some point in time because I write online. But I was not in the mood to start this course then.
And a month or so ago, I started taking that course and honestly, there is a lot to learn about it.
SEO Foundations
The course I’m talking about goes by the name SEO Foundations on LI Learning.
It’s more than just a basic introduction to SEO, as you’d find out if you take this course.
It goes in-depth on topics like keyword research, technical SEO, long-term content planning, etc. It’s also a one-stop shop for knowing about best SEO practices, tools and software to do research and how to ace this domain.
So, if you are someone who is willing to take your digital writing game to a next level, this free course is a must-take. You’ll learn many new aspects of digital writing and optimise it for ranking high on Google.
This course is constantly being updated, so you need not worry about missing any recent developments in the field.
