Putting It All Together

Since I joined Ape In Finance we’ve spent every waking moment analyzing the platform, understanding what has worked and what hasn’t, and putting together a strategy we believe is capable of scaling Ape In to new heights in 2022 and beyond. To properly set the stage for everything we plan to do and everything we haven’t even begun to think of yet, we decided to migrate all of our users off Ethereum and on to Avalanche. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. Gas Fees.

Gas fees on Ethereum are painful. There’s no way around it. There’s a reason why Axie Infinity had to build out its own side chain, Ronin, and it wasn’t because they felt like putting in the extra effort. Games just aren’t possible on Ethereum’s main net. But they are on Avalanche’s C-chain.

Avalanche’s Apricot Phase Five was activated on December 2nd — this update resulted in Avalanche’s already-low gas fees dropping from ~110 to just above 25 GWEI in seconds. These low fees make staking, un-staking, vaulting, and un-vaulting painless activities that allow participants to keep money in their pockets and enjoy DeFi and GameFi without concern.

2. Opportunity.

Avalanche is young, and that means tremendous opportunity. By joining the platform early and becoming an OG actor in the space, Ape In will position itself well to help new entrants as they also find their way on-chain. This means powerful partnerships, new excited users, and potential innovations coming at break-neck pace.

3. Better UI and UX.

We believe Avalanche’s ecosystem has created an overarching UI and UX experience that’s easy to understand, intuitive, and welcoming. This will be key as we look to onboard new users across the stack, specifically groups of users not yet actively participating in Web3.

4. Subnets.

Choosing to deploy an application on a single, all-purpose L1 blockchain creates tremendous friction with users. It makes it impossible to scale and forces users to pay large fees due to network congestion. Avalanche’s subnets solve this problem by allowing anyone to deploy application-specific networks. The subnets eliminate scaling risks, allow developers to customize every detail of the blockchain to their needs, and keeps regulatory compliance manageable thanks to validator requirements. If Ape In ever needs to create a more tailored blockchain to operate, the Subnets are ready and waiting.

We’ve rewarded early supporters by providing them Avalanche APEIN equal to the value of their Ethereum APEIN holdings + 5% (with all calculations based on the snapshot we took on December 16th, 2021). We’ve also made sure they can migrate without having to un-stake their Ethereum NFTs from the PolyientX Vaults (hooray for saving on gas fees!). NFTs that have been migrated have been renamed “OG Apes” and we plan to provide holders increased OG Ape utility in the future. We sincerely hope that these early supporters will stay with us throughout this new journey and will grow to appreciate Avalanche as the scaling solution we know it will be.

With that out of the way, on to the fun stuff. Ape In’s Revolution will occur in three phases:

Phase 1

  • The Great Ape Migration

Phase 2

  • Jungle Rumble
  • Ape Builder Update
  • Website Relaunch

Phase 3

  • Tribe Wars

As we progress through each Phase, we’ll be releasing more granular detail on the big picture items provided above in our roadmap and will also be updating our docs to reflect the changes being made. Development takes time but we intend to do all we can to keep the community abreast of our progress.

Phase 1 is relatively straightforward and is already well underway. Our Migration Claim Portal went live in January and we hope to have everyone’s Apes and APEIN fully transitioned by the end of this month. The end of Phase 1 will intermingle with the launch of Phase 2.

Phase 2 will start off with a bang as we barrel headfirst into the development of our very-first gamified experience — Ape In’s Jungle Rumble. Jungle Rumble’s initial development period began just last week and we’ll be sharing images and further detail regarding the concept and gameplay along the way. In the meantime, rest assured that you’ll soon get the opportunity to use those Ape NFTs to battle your way through a dangerous and hostile Jungle environment.

After Jungle Rumble’s soft launch is complete, we’ll begin to update and re-launch the Ape Builder and redesign the website. While we can’t let you behind the curtain just quite yet, we’re excited to share that the relaunch will be a key aspect of Ape In’s future and that it will heavily influence how players interact with the fully completed Ape In Metaverse.

After Phase 2 ends, we’ll roll right into the end game — Ape In’s Tribe Wars. The big picture is already being painted and teasers will be dropped during the process, but we would like to encourage you all to be patient during development because it WILL take time. Rome wasn’t built in a day, an Ape-themed persistent world where Apes 🏔⛏🛡⚔️ won’t be either

In closing, I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome and continued support. This journey is only just beginning and together, I know we’ll make Ape In one for the history books. Until next time.
