Open the Dungeon Gate! Apeiron PvE Dungeon Update Details

Hey doods! We know you’ve all been enjoying the PvP, but are you ready to return to the dungeon? We hope so, because it’s making a grand return (in open beta) soon! We’ve talked about the PvE dungeon update before, but now we’ve got more to share with y’all. We know you’re hungry as a dood for news~

On top of that, the Dood X Poring Fan Art Contest has successfully ended! Watch out for the winners list on Twitter tomorrow, 7am UTC.

But before that, announcements! We’ve got some changes to the AGW Invitational tournaments dates. The NA invitational is being bumped up to early July and SEA is having a day shaved off:

NA Invitational Original Dates: July 19–21

NA Invitational NEW Dates: July 5–7

SEA Invitational Original Dates: July 11–14

SEA Invitational NEW Dates: July 12–14

And as a last piece of AGW news, here’s a quick AGW battle report: currently, Ancient8, Gemeta Gaming, and 一席之地 are at the top of the Guild Leaderboard, breaking through the 10000 total Stars barrier! We have to say that the leaderboard rankings are fluctuating quite a bit from last week, so you and your mates still have a chance to catch up. Keep fighting!

Next, the ANIMUS Marketplace utility will be going live on June 21st 8am UTC — tomorrow! You’ll be able to cover 50% of your Marketplace $ANIMA breeding costs using ANIMUS. Read more about that here.

Next, the Doodaria Pass we announced last week is going live — today! Get rewards by completing

missions and quests, all run through our Discord server. With the launch of the DP, we’re finally retiring the #🔥│fireball-party channel. Special thanks to Boss Oppa, AbbieG, and 旋律 for running it this year!

Now with that said and done, let’s dive into the dungeon!

PvE Dungeon Release

The PvE Dungeon is expected to be in our official S3 beta release. The release will not only preserving the PvP game mode we currently have, but also adding an updated PvE dungeon feature. Players will be able to hunt and mint Apostles once more!

Those who have played our Apeiron S1 and S2 releases will be familiar with our roguelite dungeon. For those who joined during S3, don’t worry, let us walk you through our dungeon rooms! And since the dungeon has been undergoing some reconstruction, there are several new features we’re going to introduce below…

New Dungeon Currencies

The updated Dungeon mode will have four currencies: Unpurified Gold, Unpurified Souls, Soul Gems, and Souls (as shown from left to right). In our S1 and S2 PvE dungeon versions, Soul Gems were the only currency in the dungeon, but in the coming new PvE dungeon the Unpurified Gold will replace the old Soul Gem’s function, while Soul Gems will have new purposes.

Here’s what each of the currencies will get you:

• Unpurified Gold: Main currency used in the PvE dungeon, obtained by winning battles. Use it to make purchases in dungeon shops. Cannot be carried when leaving the dungeon.
• Unpurified Souls: Obtained by selling Apostles in the dungeon. Will be converted to Soul Gems when leaving the dungeon.
• Soul Gems: Converted from Unpurified Souls. Use it to start a new dungeon run and level up Apostle skills.
• Souls: Obtained by selling Apostles in the Cradle. Use it to reset an Apostle’s age.

Dungeon Difficulty Setting

We’ve talked about the dungeon difficulty before: we’re providing easy, normal, and hard modes in order to allow players to customize their gameplay to what they want it to be. The harder challenges you pick, the more rewards you’ll have the chance to snag, including Unpurified Gold, Soul Gems, and higher IV Apostles, all of which will give you a higher score on the dungeon leaderboard.

For new players, in order to familiarize yourself with our game, you’ll start from the easy dungeon. Once you’ve completed the easy dungeon run successfully (hopefully you won’t get mauled by the Juggernuggets >.<), the normal mode will unlock. The same goes for proceeding to hard mode.

Every time you start a new dungeon run, you’ll have to choose the difficulty level and pay to open the dungeon door using Soul Gems. The Soul Gems required to open the door increases with the number of times you start new runs within the day, and it will reset once per day.

Apostle Assembly in Cradle

Tired of battling? Want to chill with your Apostle doods? You’ll soon be able to hang out with them in the Cradle! The Cradle is your new hub in the game. Dood Apostles will start appearing in the middle of the Cradle, with NFT Apostles coming first, then dead Apostles from your previous battle, and at last, other normal Apostles. Look at how they dance and wiggle their little doody butts! Adorable.

Besides, Apostles can now age. Each day passing they will grow older, and they can live up to 31 days until they die of old age. Your goal is to level up their skills as much as possible before the deadline, and mint them into NFTs so that they can be your companions forever. Don’t worry if your favorite Apostle dies before minting though, you may choose to reset an Apostle to 0 days old by spending Souls.

Apostle Adventure Squad

You can now bring your beloved Apostles into the dungeon! In the previous dungeon version, you would pick up different Apostles as you go. But in the new version, before entering into a new dungeon run, you’ll add up to 4 Apostles into your Dungeon Squad and they’ll meet you there.

Once you’re inside the dungeon, your squad will be with you through thick and thin, and you won’t be able to change it up. However, there will be two extra slots for you to preserve rescued Apostles, so that you can bring them back to the Cradle and have new adventures with them in the future.

We hope that by keeping a limited number of Apostles, players will now upgrade their skills more frequently. When you obtain new Apostles in the dungeon, you can choose to use them to upgrade other Apostles, keep them in the Reserve Slots, or sell them for Unpurified Souls.

This change will keep your Apostle Squad neat n’ tidy.

Revamped Dungeon Shop

The dungeon shopkeeper has secretly been conducting some doody marketing surveys, the result of which is: the dungeon shop is getting revamped!

A new item has been added to the shop: the Sealed Apostle — by opening a box, you’ll gain an Apostle with random class and IV. The shopkeeper has also cleaned up some space, so now the shop can display more items for purchase.That means you can buy even MORE POTIONS.

We hope that with this new arrangement, players can save up their Unpurified Gold after battle, and splash them all out in the dungeon shop. Shopping time! Who doesn’t love a little retail therapy?

A Break in the Cradle

Lastly, you’ll encounter a new room type in the new dungeon — the Portal Room. Replacing the Campfire Room, it has a portal that will teleport you back to the Cradle temporarily, where you can rest with your Apostles. More importantly, the chef has fixed its hot pot, and is ready to serve you magical healing soup with all sorts of buffs!

Collect ingredients in the dungeon by winning battles, and bring them to the chef! He’ll prepare cuisines with his delicate culinary skills and PASSION. Hopefully he won’t cause explosions or fires in the Cradle again.

When you’re done with snacking, you’ll get back to the dungeon through the Portal instead of the PvE dungeon gate. This effectively saves the progress you’ve made in the dungeon rather than starting a new run. Convenient, eh? Thanks to our dungeon construction workers for their tireless work.
