The Apex Ping uptime monitoring service gets public status pages! As well PagerDuty alert integration and more.

Ping’s public status pages have been designed to be very minimal, not only for responsive load times, but to quickly convey the state of your services without getting too technical with developer-centric charts.

Service states are handled automatically by the system to inform users if the service is degraded, or experiencing an outage.

You may create as many status pages as you like, and specify the checks to display, making it a great solution for any size of company, and development agencies supporting many services.

This is just the initial release, you can expect refinements and additional options and improvements soon. Give me a shout at tj@apex.sh if there’s something you’d like to see!

Region filters

By default you’ll see metrics displayed in aggregate spanning every region, however the new Regions filter allows you to explore all the metrics for a particular region.

For example here is Ping’s uptime and distribution metrics from Oregon in America, which of course is quite fast as the primary data stores are in Oregon.

Now how about our friends in Singapore! The distribution here is not quite so hot due to the latency introduced over-seas. Naturally this is invaluable information with a global audience, and something worth optimizing in your customer-facing sites, apps, or APIs 😀.

New regions

Since launch three new regions have been added: Frankfurt, Sydney, and Singapore — with more to come!

The global distribution of Apex Ping provides useful uptime & performance insight for a global customer base, which is especially true if your website or application spans multiple data centers, as one or more may be experiencing isolated issues.

PagerDuty alerting integration

The new PagerDuty alert integration is great for larger development teams who require on-call schedules and escalation policies.
