- CardiaTec, a company leveraging AI on human multi-omics data for advanced cardiovascular drug targets, was recognised on the prestigious #21toWatch 2023 shortlist by The Cambridge Independent as one of the next-generation game-changers and innovators in the Cambridge region
- 🎉 ImageBiopsy Lab celebrated achieving the EU MDR certification for its cutting-edge radiological image processing software, IB Lab SQUIRREL. 🔬Now commercially available, it offers automated measurement capabilities and user and patient-friendly reporting, streamlining the scoliosis assessment process and saving valuable time for healthcare providers. Powered by advanced AI technology, IB Lab SQUIRREL has undergone rigorous training using an extensive dataset of over 17,000 images.
- kiutra, a provider of innovative cryogenic solutions and products, introduced CryoCloud® — a digital dashboard that allows users to conveniently monitor the status of their cryostats, access operational and maintenance data, and review all incidents without requiring direct on-site access. The dashboard enables users to see detailed status information for each individual device, track and visualise key parameters over time, and even trigger service commands remotely, providing a seamless and efficient remote monitoring solution for cryostat management. 🧪
- 🏆 Robeauté earned a coveted spot on Sifted’s prestigious list of medtech startups to watch, validating its groundbreaking work in developing microrobots for targeted drug delivery and diagnostics.
- sewts proudly released its latest case study, showcasing how their robotics and AI solutions, including VELUM, empowered industrial laundries like Wäscherei Aschenbrenner to overcome labour shortages and ensure business sustainability through their collaboration with FANUC Europe. 🤖
- 🚁 Spleenlab partnered with Quantum Systems and Airbus Defense and Space for groundbreaking research on AI-powered swarming in tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The project was funded by the German Ministry of Defence under the KITU 2 initiative and aims to analyse AI building blocks for swarms of tactical UAS in real-world scenarios.
Other Activities
Gordon Euller had the chance to contribute to Business Insider’s discussion on the latest trends in reproductive tech. Among 10 startups offering IVF, egg and sperm freezing, and contraception services, Gordon highlighted ImVitro’s AI-powered operating system that revolutionises embryo evaluation, potentially enhancing the success rates of IVF treatments.
APEX Ventures was represented by Ion Hauer at the German Entrepreneurship Center Munich this July, where he connected with 70 early-stage founders and tech talents at the Co-Founder Match event. The event focused on the collaboration between the startup community and AI talents from the Hybrid Human Artificial Intelligence 2023 conference. As the Table Captain for deep tech innovation, Ion led an engaging discussion that sparked enthusiasm, with attendees so engrossed that they almost passed on free pizza!🍕
He was also present at the World of QUANTUM exhibition, where he cheered on for innovation from planqc, kiutra, QuantumDiamonds, MQI — Munich Quantum Instruments, Quantum Optics Jena GmbH, KEEQuant, and others leading the way for the second quantum revolution.
At the 9th Business Angel Summit 2023, Andreas Riegler delivered valuable insights on current fundraising opportunities, highlighting the significance of networking and intellectual property creation for achieving startup success. His expertise sheds light on crucial aspects that can propel startups towards growth and prosperity.
