Announcing the Partnership and Integration with Milkomeda
API3 is excited to announce a partnership and integration with Milkomeda. API3 will be making the API3 Alliance, the largest selection of data providers in Web 3.0, available for dapp developers on Milkomeda. By also deploying Beacons on Milkomeda, API3 will also be able to provide transparent, scalable data feeds to a number of leading L1 ecosystems through Milkomeda’s technologies.
About the Partnership
Currently, a dapp created for Ethereum is able to be deployed on many other blockchains. Blockchains that are able to have dapps deployed on them that are also compatible with Ethereum are referred to as “EVM compatible”. API3’s Airnode can be thought of as an example here, and can be readily deployed on any such chain. EVM compatibility can be a powerful tool, allowing even a newly launched new L1/rollup to either fork an existing project and deploy themselves to provide a service, or have projects deploy their existing code on the chain without needing to change anything.
Some popular blockchains lack Ethereum interoperability, for example Solana, Cardano, Terra and Algorand, all of which use alternative programming languages for smart contracts. Milkomeda aims to improve the choices for dapp developers by deploying an EVM compatible sidechain to these non-EVM compatible blockchains, allowing popular dapps to be deployed within their ecosystems. Through integrating with Milkomeda, API3 will be able to provide access to over 180 data providers in the API3 Alliance, and also be ready to support DeFi on Milkomeda through Beacons, API3’s price data feed protocol.
