Decentralized applications on Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, and RSK can now access dAPIs (data feeds) to get cryptocurrency price data from Airnode, API3’s first-party oracle

July 19, 2022 — API3, the leading first-party blockchain oracle, today announced the availability of dAPIs (data feeds built with Airnode) on Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, and RSK to deliver high-quality cryptocurrency data to smart contracts on those platforms. The Airnode providing the data is owned and operated by Amberdata.

Smart contract developers now have access to dAPIs through the new API3 Market, where data feeds are easily searched, monitored, and consumed. For a limited time, dAPIs are free to use. Projects can integrate now to maximize their access to high quality price data during this free trial period.

The launch of dAPIs on these mainnets follows API3’s first-party data feed availability on Ethereum and Polygon testnets since February and the QRNG random number generator deployment to 13 mainnets on May 3rd. The availability of production dAPIs comes at an opportune time for these four rapidly-growing blockchains as the need for high quality data feeds among smart contracts is intensifying.

“dAPIs are a significant step toward achieving API3’s vision of a more reliable and efficient decentralized web with quantifiable security. First-party oracles operated by highly reputable data providers enable that vision.” said Heikki Vanttinen, co-founder of API3.

About API3

The API3 Foundation is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) leading the movement from legacy third-party oracle networks to first-party oracle solutions that deliver more security, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Powered by Airnode first-party oracles, API3’s Decentralized APIs (dAPIs) are first-party data feeds with quantifiable security.
