#APIOpsLive hacking with OpenAPI spec Nov 28th
Lets write some spec live! This time it will in Finnish. There’s plenty of free session to follow about the same topic in English. Futhermore, I’m the founder of Finnish API -community (API:Suomi) and I feel obligated to provide something in native language for the community.
In this session we’ll take a deep dive to OpenAPI spec in practise. Let’s design an API and use OpenAPI spec in that. In other words, we’ll use design first apporoach in which you first design the API (with clients/target API consumers). After that you can generate API stub from the spec and add logic. In the end of this session we’ll take the API spec to API management and see how it fits in there.
What is OpenAPI spec?
SmartBear donated the Swagger Specification in 2015 as part of the formation of the Open API Initiative. Following the announcement of the OAI, the Swagger specification was renamed the OpenAPI Specification and is semantically identical to the specification formerly known as the Swagger 2.0 specification. OAS — and the Swagger Specification before it — is widely recognized as the most popular open source framework for defining and creating RESTful APIs, and today tens of thousands of developers are building thousands of open source repos of tools leveraging the OpenAPI Specification. If you use Twitter, use hashtag #APIOpsLive. To know how many are coming we’ll do simple RSVP for this. It’s not binding RSVP but will give me a hint is this really an interesting topic.
RSVP via APIOPs Tampere group! Details for the event will be update to mentioned APIOps Tampere site.
Now it’s my turn and OpenAPI spec live hacking fits as a topic since that’s what I’ve been doing lately for some amount. I can’t say that I’m a guru or even an expert on the subject, but I have experience with it.
