apM shopping malls have more than a week of summer vacation every August, chilling out and getting ready for next season. During this period, most shops in the malls change their shop interior as per their new brand concepts and some new shops join the malls to open their brands in the malls. As always, apM shopping malls had a summer break for nine days, from 8th to 16th of August, making themselves ready for next F/W season. Unfortunately, as COVID-19 crisis in Korea got worse right after this week, wholesale brands in apM malls have experienced difficulties.

However, against all the odds, the wholesalers have strived to survive in the crisis and prepare themselves for post-pandemic while wrapping up 2020 S/S with season sale and presenting up-to-date 2020 F/W collection. Particularly, the shops have broadened their online communication channels with current and prospective customers via dispatched staffs of global buyers and Chinese influencer marketing. Although apM shopping malls are packed with customers as they were before the pandemic, the malls’ hallways are busy with a fairly large number of shopping bags which are ordered by local and global buyers and get ready for travel.

apM shopping malls also have increased the level of quarantine control to protect buyers and shop owners/staffs such as doing in-person temperature checks on every people coming in the malls, in addition to running thermal imaging camera systems and restricting building entrances. For the convenience of revisiting customers on the same day, the malls put stickers on the face masks of the customers if the customers clear the temperature check. The malls make face masks and hand sanitizers mandatory when visitors and shop owners/staffs come into the malls and get on shuttle buses.

Meanwhile, ahead of the official service launch of apM Members for buyers and wholesalers of apM shopping malls, apM Coin project has worked on developing further services going through the COVID-19 outbreak. Given that apM malls are one of the most popular B2B clothing shopping malls in Asia, it is expected that the growing number of customers will remotely visit and place orders online in the future. To meet the needs of customers and shifting market trends, apM Coin’s CRM platform plans to provide the services that enable the wholesalers and buyers to communicate with ease and to promote their business transactions regardless of their locations. We will share details on the launch of apM Members with our official communication channels when we have clear schedules.
