Our apocalyptic ballerina, living in a land of pollution and garbage, desperately tries to clean up the city, she so loves.

We are so angsty! It’s hard to do a photo set of apocalypse without it really. Speaking of angst, I found out on Wednesday that I have cervical cancer. So it seems as though my body operates on an irony principle, medically. I’m also fairly certain that my organs are sarcastic, so at least I’m in good company. I’m going to keep this about the breast cancer though. We’ll do another fundraiser for vaginas and the crevasse of fun that is lady bits, maybe something with creepy goth hand crafted flowers. ;)

This shoot was fun because we brought out two bags of recycling with us to put in the street (which we cleaned up). A security guard even came by to ask what we were doing because apparently, Minna Street tunnel is owned/guarded by the SF Chronicle. For the record, that tunnel is clean and lovely on a regular basis. Also, the Chronicle is nice for letting us shoot there with no notice at all. I later photoshopped in piles of garbage, which took a surprisingly long time to do. I think this was my most challenging set during post-production.

Thanks to Ramiro, Steffen, Juan, Ali and Dustin for coming to help with the shoot! Ramiro took some shots of us with his iPhone, so we got a few behind the scenes photos, which is always cool.

The show will be on November 15th, at TCHO chocolate factory between 6 - 8pm. Please check out our event page! If you can’t make it to the show, we’ll be auctioning off the pieces (mounted on bamboo - looking fairly badass) on eBay as well. But they will only be auctioned during the show. Link will be posted on the event page and via my twitter @erin.
