The American people rejected fascism on home soil

Joe Biden’s defeat of Donald Trump brings America’s four-year experiment with fascist leadership to an end, but the fight against fascism isn’t over

NOTE: In some jurisdictions of the United States, votes are still being counted in the 2020 general election.

After an election in which more ballots were cast than in any other election in U.S. history, reputable media outlets projected that the Democratic Party ticket of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris won a majority of Electoral Votes.

Last week’s election represented a rejection of an administration that tried to rule America like a fascist dictatorship, despite not having enough political power to fully rule as a dictatorship, for the past four years. However, the political fight against fascism in America didn’t end last week.

Already, Republican President Donald Trump, who lost re-election, has filed lawsuits in multiple states in a desperate attempt to overturn Biden’s victory, despite the fact that such lawsuits would stand little, if any chance, of overturning Biden’s victory. Furthermore, the Trump Administration has adamantly refused to facilitate a transition of power to the incoming Biden Administration.

Earlier today, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a Trump appointee, said something that should alarm every American:

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo battled reporters over President Trump’s refusal to accept the results of the presidential election, predicting “there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration” despite the fact that former Vice President Joe Biden is the projected winner of the race.

The comment from Pompeo, a top ally of the president, came during a combative news conference at the State Department on Tuesday when the Cabinet member was asked whether the agency is prepared to engage with President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team.

“There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration,” Pompeo replied with a smile.

Pompeo basically admitted that Trump is trying to overthrow the Biden Administration before it takes office. Remember that the State Department, which is led by Pompeo, plays a major role in the presidential transition process, and Pompeo is standing in the way of a proper transition of executive power.

America rejected fascism last week, but Pompeo’s remarks are extremely alarming. I fear that Trump, if the courts do not hand him victory, may try to use our nation’s Armed Forces to remain in power illegally, but I certainly hope it doesn’t come to that.
