MORNING COFFEE QUATRAIN
Misinterpretation
Silence remains unaltered, no matter the vibrations that wordless serenades provoke
Was the silence before my speech
the same as the silence after it?
Or, does my influence by vibrations
compose I-centric hallucinations?
“Morning Coffee Quatrains” are the response to
“What’s the main thing around which my mind swirls right now?”.
A prompt from my self to my self, while drinking my morning coffee
(even if the “publish” button is pushed later).
Silence is not mute.
One can sense its wordless vibrations.
And when words are heard, we are influenced by their sound and the shaking they provoke.
We cannot avoid it. It is a matter of human anatomy.
We may like to think — egocentrically — that we affect silence.
But it remains unaltered; even while it hosts those sounds.
It is present even then; just being.
It keeps its core identity.
Eternally.
