My Glimpse profile that others see — main image swiped to top

Glimpse — FREE but need to request invite — (8/10)

Glimpse has a new take on the dating game by utilizing your Instagram to help you find matches. One might consider it “Tinder using Instagram.” The design of the app is beautiful, which gives it the instagram-esque experience. After giving access to your Instagram account, you upload a profile picture, add 9 instagram pictures of your choice and your preferences and then go explore other people’s profiles. After matching, you can then message each other.

The only issue I had with the app was that it crashed way too often. After doing one or two simple interactions with the app, it crashes. It’s still very early so I assume this is a bug that will be fixed quickly. I am very impressed with the app and think that it has a lot of potential as it will open up its beta.

Breather check-in screen

Breather — FREE —(9/10)

I heard about Breather from a recent blog post of Steve Schlafman’s detailing his experience. He goes into a lot of details with regard to the app and experience, which I highly recommend reading. I decided that I needed to give Breather a shot, especially with each users first hour free. When I checked out the app for the date I was looking to go, it was fully booked aside from one slight from 7:30 to 8:30 am, which I quickly booked. It gave me a great reason to wake up early and catch up on work. After reserving my time, the app begins a countdown until you can check in. Once I arrived at 7:30, the app allowed me to click check in and I was quickly given a randomly generated code to unlock the door. The room was spacious, quiet and very clean. I got comfortable on the couch and was able to enjoy the peace and quiet for the hour as I got a lot of work done. I was super impressed with the experience and highly recommend it, particularly for teams that want a great place for a brainstorming session. I do wonder how they will continue to scale by getting new breather locations and how Breather will maintain the quality of the experience as they expand.
