Appademics Magainze is looking for contributors to our publication. Specifically, we’re seeking developers/writers with ideas for tutorials, case studies, or opinion pieces related to apps and app development. And yes, we might even have a small payment structure available for stellar, repeat contributors. ;-)

Appademics is a publication aimed at aspiring and current developers who want to keep up with the ever evolving world of app development. From interviews with app-based entrepreneurs, to roundups of industry happenings, to useful guides, framework tutorials, and more, our goal is to provide interesting content for app devs. While our current focus is specifically subjects that would be useful/pertinent to mobile iOS/Android devs, we are flexible.

What We Need Right Now

Currently, we’re seeking writers who want to help Appademics grow and extend the reach of their own word by pitching and writing stories that end up published here. We are open to either one-time contributors or ongoing collaborators, with the second story submitted and beyond eligible for monetary compensation.

Our primary requirements are simple: Strong writing skills, and an expertise or interesting perspective/story angle on some facet of the app development world. That’s it!

Submitting to Appademics Magazine: How It Works

Step 1) Reach out!
The first step is to get in contact with us about your idea, the easiest way to do this is to email us at AppademicsMagazine@gmail.com or to reach out to us on twitter (@AppademicsMag).

In your email, please include your full name, pitch/topic/story idea, how long you need to provide an initial draft, and — if possible — links to previous samples of your writing.

Step 2) Get the green light.
Once we receive your pitch, we’ll email you back within 48 hours either approving your idea or asking some clarifying questions in order to help us make a decision. If you do not hear back, please assume we have decided not to pursue your story at this time, but don’t hesitate to continue to submit your ideas to us in the future.

Step 3) Write!
In your correspondence with us, we’ll agree upon a date when we should receive your first draft. Please work diligently to have a full draft written and sent to us by this deadline.

At this point, we will also invite you to become a writer for the publication (you will need a free account here on Medium for this), which will allow you to write your story without leaving the site.

Step 4) Editing & final touches.
We’ll work together to get your story polished, and we’ll provide a cover image for it as well. If we haven’t yet, we’ll agree upon a publishing date at this time.

Step 5) IT’S ALIIIIVE!

Your story is published live and gets its turn in our featured story spotlight! We will work hard to share your story around and let readers know that it’s live. Of course, we’d love to have you proudly share your piece around in your own circles as well to maximize exposure, but we’ll leave that decision up to you.

Ready to get started?

We want to work with as many active minds in the developer community as possible, so be sure to reach out if you’d like to contribute — we’d love to hear from you! 👊
