What clients have you worked for?
We have a satisfied clientele of over 500 companies, including multiple Fortune 500 companies. We take pride in having worked with:
If you had to choose one category, what kind of app do you think is your mobile app development company’s specialty?
We have been in the app development world for over 10 years and have developed different types of apps. But, if we are to choose one, it has to be game apps and mobile commerce. Luckily, we have had endless opportunities to develop gaming apps and the experience has been tremendous. Some of our exciting apps include Finding Frez and Relentless. These apps received tremendous feedback.
We are well-versed in mobile commerce as well. We are amongst the early adopters of mobile commerce technologies, considering the potential of mobile phones in today’s technologically advanced times. Our project, Shop4Me, is an excellent example of our m-commerce expertise.
What is the average budget of the mobile apps you develop?
We work with startups and enterprises; therefore, the budget varies. It depends on the features that the client needs. An average mobile app by Cubix costs $50K. But again, it depends on the requirements of the application.
Do you develop all mobile apps in-house or do you outsource some parts of the process?
All of our projects are handled in-house. We do not outsource any part of the process. There are multiple reasons for in-house development. We have complete control of the project and know the current status of the project at all times. It helps us in managing all aspects of the project. Outsourcing makes it difficult for everyone to stay on the same page. Coordinating changes in the project are time-consuming and hinder the overall flow of the work.
Which would you say are the best mobile apps that your company has developed and why?
- Tissot: Hopps by Tissot, a mobile game developed for basketball enthusiasts featuring different models of Tissot watches.
- Glimmer: The social networking platform connects an amazing community of people with disabilities, encouraging relationship-building.
- Politico: The app developed for Politico distributes its news content and in-depth analysis, helping users stay updated.
- Chachi: The app finds homemade food nearby and connects foodies and chefs via an effective platform.
- PeeSpots: The location-based mobile app helps users find restrooms nearby.
Do you prefer to build mobile apps with native, hybrid or web languages?
We prefer developing hybrid applications, with native hardware components. The development is simpler with easy maintenance. The platforms can be changed at any point, giving more development options.
Let’s focus on iOS and Android mobile app development. Which are the Pros and Cons of each platform?
Both platforms have their pros and cons. Mobile apps for Android are written in the Java programming language which most developers have expertise over. On the contrary, mobile apps for iOS are written in Objective-C and developers who have worked around C and C++ are comfortable with iOS development.
iOS applications are easier to develop because the number of devices running on the operating system is limited. The audience is very well-defined. It is easier to develop and test for a limited number of devices than for hundreds of devices. The App Store has strict regulations, so only high-end apps make it to the store. The insistence on quality forces the best out of us but also limits room for exploring.
Android platforms have a large audience and hundreds of supported devices. It is difficult to build mobile apps that best fits their taste.
Which one will evolve more within the next 5 years?
In the next five years, Android will evolve more than iOS. It is an open source platform with infinite development opportunities and room for creating wonders.
Which device is the best in the market right now? The one you feel is a must have
iOS devices are the best in the market right now. Hardware excellence is unrivaled. I love that Apple’s process standards are so high that only the perfect solutions see the light of the day.
And which device do you feel more comfortable developing an app for?
We have developed chart-topping mobile apps for iOS and Android. But iOS is always the answer if given a choice. iOS development is faster because of limited supported devices. Designing for iOS is more interesting and easier, again because one has to worry about a few devices.
